Gasan Gusejnov's course "From Kozma Prutkov to the Current Russian Poetry: Classical Antiquity as a Source of Laughter and Humour" (language of instruction: German) running until July 5th 2015.
On May 29 Konstantin Polivanov, Associate Professor at the School of Philology defended his PhD thesis at the University of Tartu.
On May 15, Dr James Canton of the University of Essex will deliver a lecture at HSE on ‘Wild Writing’, a form of literature that emerged in the mid-twentieth century as a novel way of understanding the urban landscape and nature. The author of numerous publications focused primarily on British travel writing in Arabia, Dr Canton’s lecture will focus on a discussion of local Essex landscapes.
On Thursday, Professor Stefania Sini from the Amedeo Avogadro University of Eastern Piedmont, Italy gave a lecture on the study of narrative.
On the 12th - 14th February 2015 students from the School of Philology and Linguistics presented their papers at a conference of young philologists in Tallinn.
