Linguistics

Bachelor’s in Fundamental and Applied Linguistics
Modern linguistics offers a rare opportunity for students to combine passions for both humanities and mathematics. Students who are interested both in research and application of research in solving practical problems, as well as those who love both information technologies and languages, will feel at home in the Linguistics programme at the Faculty of Philology. Students will acquire unique knowledge that can be applied either in the fast developing area of IT linguistic applications or in theoretical scientific research of the world of human languages.
Director - Prof. Ekaterina Rakhilina

·     Master's in Computational Linguistics
The main goal of this Master’s programme is to provide fundamental theoretical knowledge of problem solving methods and algorithms in the area of automated data processing. Graduates of this Programme will be able not only to take part in the forefront projects involving modern linguistic technologies, but also to create such projects themselves by formulating new problems and offering ways to solve challenging tasks in this area.
