7th Annual Conference for Emerging Scholars "Text -- Commentary -- Interpretation" (Deadline for applications: 20.03)

School of Philology of the Faculty of Humanities invites undergraduate and postgraduate students from Russia as well as from abroad to participate in the 7th annual conference "Text – commentary – interpretation". 

We welcome interdisciplinary approach and propose some possible topics for discussion: 

– works of fiction in historical context
– the boundaries of a text's interpretation
– problems of textual criticism
– philological commentary and the history of literature
– commentary and intermediality (a commentary to a non-verbal text)
– philology and digital humanities
– "close reading" vs. "distant reading" 

The conference will take place on the 6-7 of April 2018. The address is 21/4, Staraya Basmannaya street, Moscow. Please, send your application and abstract to our email address hse.phil.conference@gmail.com until Tuesday the 20 of March. 

The application should include: your full mame, affiliation, academic year, contact telephone number, email address, the title of your talk and the information about your academic supervisor (optional). The abstract should not exceed 2000 graphic characters. 

Working languages of the conference are Russian and English.
