Understanding logical-grammatical constructions

This project is dedicated to the development of materials for remediation of understanding of logical-grammatical constructions, concerned with spatial relations and especially vulnerable in certain types of aphasia. On the first stage of the project we developed materials to train four types of constructions, in which spatial component is expressed in explicit or latent form: spatial (“Conductor places soloists in front of the chorus”), possessive (“Army of the general is marching”), instrumental (“An old man is breaking a stick with a shovel”), and comparative (“A tree is higher than a house”). On the second stage of the project it is planned to conduct a series of experiments proving the effectiveness of the use of these materials for logical-grammatical constructions’ training for certain types of aphasia. On the final stage of the project working materials and manual for their use in complex speech therapy in aphasia will be prepared for publication.

Laboratory members working on this project: Ekaterina Iskra, Yulia Akinina, Olga Dragoy.

Project is supported by is supported by Center for Fundamental Research (CFR) HSE.
